Etihad Airways - Celebrate Ramdan - 1

Etihad Airways is embracing the spirit of Ramadan with special offerings for its passengers both on the ground and during flights, beginning March 10. These offerings are designed to cater to passengers across all cabin classes on select flights, enhancing their travel experience during the holy month with amenities like Iftar meals and prayer facilities available in premium lounges and onboard.

Turky Al Hammadi, the Head of Product and Hospitality at Etihad Airways, emphasized the importance of Ramadan as a time for reflection and kindness, and the airline’s dedication to embodying these values throughout the passengers’ journey. The Iftar menu, developed by Etihad’s culinary team, combines traditional Emirati flavors with a modern twist, focusing on premium, sustainable, and locally sourced ingredients. The menu features dishes such as lamb bukhari, pulled chicken machbous pinza, warm umm ali dessert, and olive oil and date cake, aimed at providing a nutritious balance of traditional Ramadan meals.

Etihad also encourages its guests to participate in charitable acts through the Etihad Guest program, allowing members to donate their miles to support various causes, with over 250 million miles donated to date.

In Etihad’s lounges located in Abu Dhabi, New York, Washington DC, and London Heathrow, passengers can enjoy traditional Ramadan refreshments and Iftar meals that offer a taste of Arabic cuisine with modern interpretations, including dishes like harira soup, lobster machbous ravioli, and Vimto cheesecake.

Onboard, passengers in premium cabins can indulge in delicacies such as lentil soup, lamb and date meatballs, and umm ali dessert, while those in Economy class will enjoy Arabic mezze, braised lamb, and Vimto mousse. Etihad provides Iftar bags for passengers breaking their fast around landing, featuring Laban, water, and dates, along with dedicated prayer areas and electronic Qibla pointers.

The airline’s E-BOX entertainment system is updated with Ramadan programming, including religious content, a cooking show “Chef Bil Bait,” and the “El Dunia Ramadan” series that explores Ramadan celebrations across different cultures.

Etihad Airways also offers its members the chance to contribute to charitable causes like “The Reach Campaign” against river blindness and lymphatic filariasis through mile donations.

Visitors to Abu Dhabi during Ramadan can immerse themselves in the emirate’s cultural heritage, with opportunities to participate in Iftar at hotels or tents, visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, or enjoy a sunset stroll along the Corniche, further enriching their Ramadan experience.
