China Eastern Airlines has planned a new direct service between Shanghai and Istanbul beginning September 28, 2023.
This is the first time a Chinese airline has flown between China and Turkiye, linking the two globally known cities and significant aviation centers.

MU703/704 will be the flight numbers for the Shanghai-Istanbul route, with three weekly flights. The flight will depart Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 01:30 Beijing time on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arrive in Istanbul Airport at 08:30 local time. The return flights will depart Istanbul Airport at 14:00 local time on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arrive at Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 05:30 Beijing time the next day.

Istanbul is the only city in the world that is located on both sides of the Bosphorus Strait. With the civil aviation travel market expected to develop steadily and rapidly by 2023, China Eastern Airlines is aggressively growing its international route network, with the Shanghai-Istanbul route being a significant priority.

The Shanghai-Istanbul flight schedule is intended to serve both direct and connecting travelers. It enables easy and effective travel for direct travellers, and it gives additional alternatives and enhances efficiency for connecting passengers.

Passengers arriving in Istanbul at 08:30 a.m. may easily connect to future flights to locations around Europe, Africa, and other parts of the world.

Similarly, passengers arriving at Shanghai Pudong International Airport can take advantage of the airport’s extensive flight network to efficiently connect to domestic destinations, as well as flights to Southeast Asia, Japan, and South Korea, particularly those managed by China Eastern Airlines, the airport’s largest carrier.
